On October 19, 2012 at 3:07 pm the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Wawa Detachment were dispatched to a reported robbery at Lai’s Restaurant on Broadway Ave, Wawa. Through investigation 18 year old Clint CADREAU of Michipicoten First Nation was arrested and charged with the following criminal code offences;1. Assault
2. Cause Disturbance
3. Breach of Probation
The accused was released with conditions and a court date of December 10, 2012.
On October 22, 2012 the OPP received information that the accused was walking on Highway 17 just north of Wawa and that he was in the middle of the highway. Police located CADREAU on an old rail bed 300 metres off of Tremblay Flats Road. He was arrested for 2 counts of Failing to Comply with Undertaking and Breach of Probation. While under arrest the accused committed 3 more offences;
1. Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest
2. Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
3. Assault a Peace Officer
The accused has been transported to Sault Ste Marie to appear in Bail Court on October 23, 2012.
