A three vehicle crash north of Sault Ste. Marie at the Highway 556 East turn-off has sent four people to hospital with injuries OPP tell LOCAL2.ca
The collision occurred a about 4pm on Highway 17 and the Searchmont highway turnoff.
OPP at the scene believe the silver passenger vehicle was turning left from Highway 556 onto Highway 17 heading south when it was t-boned by an SUV heading north on Highway 17.
A Burgundy truck was behind the silver car at the intersection but did not sustain any damage.
The SUV sustained some damage to the front end. The silver car was completely destroyed.
Four of the occupants in the silver car were transported to Sault Area Hospital including two children with non-life threatening injuries.
OPP were assisted by the Aweres Volunteer Fire Department.
Highway 17 was not closed however OPP re-routed traffic exiting Highway 556 through the parking lot of the Esso station at the intersection.
