A large-scale power outage affected large areas of the city this morning, beginning at 11:18am, with power being restored just before noon.The PUC confirmed that half their customers -- 16,141 -- were without power for 38 minutes this morning.
The cause of the outage was a failed high voltage switch at a transformer station.
The outage caused severe traffic backups on Great Northern Road.
Power was restored to all areas at 11:56am.
