On the 6th of October at approximately 0750 hours police responded to a report that two males had driven a stolen vehicle into the west canal at the Sault Locks.Two males were identified in the area and further investigation has led to the arrest of one of the suspects. 18 year old Christopher Lee Swanson of no fixed address has been arrested and charged with in possession of the stolen Pontiac Grand Am recovered in the canal.
In addition he is also bound by a valid probation order with the enforceable condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior, and reside in such a location that is approved by his probation officer, both of which were breached.
A warrant for the arrest of the second suspect is pending.
