Now that the cooler weather is here and the leaves are changing, we all know what's coming next....Halloween!
LOCAL2.ca viewer Jim Disdale who runs White Blossom Farms located at 607 Leigh’s Bay Road tells LOCAL2.ca that there is no shortage of pumpkins this year.
Jim writes:
The extreme drought this year has caused another pumpkin shortage across Canada and the US. BUT not here. Although we struggled all summer to save our crops from the drought we had to let the pumpkins fend for themselves as they are not a one of our primary crops.
Oddly enough, with almost no rain all summer, the jack-o’-lanterns flourished on their own. The 36 plants produced over 250 of the orange gourds.
