WAR OF 1812The Friends of the Ermatinger•Clergue National Historic Site and Canadian Heritage are proud to present “1812 Rendezvous – A Heritage Celebration of the local War of 1812 Alliance” from September 20 – 23, 2012 at the Ermatinger•Clergue National Historic Site.

The 1812 Rendezvous is a living history event commemorating the union of the local British Garrison with First Nations, Metis and Voyageurs, along with local residents including Charles Oaks Ermatinger, in an effort to protect the area from American invasion.

Visitors to the 1812 Rendezvous will be greeted by history re-enactors who will set the scene for a memorable experience. This four-day heritage event features hands-on activities, entertainment, games, and demonstrations. Cannon and musket drills, military encampments, and a voyageur/native area will also be highlighted. The event runs from Thursday September 20 to Sunday September 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.

Join us Friday, September 21 at 2:30 p.m. to witness the official lighting of the cannon by MP Brian Hayes and Mayor Debbie Amaroso.

Enjoy tea and dessert with British Soldiers on September 22 at 2 p.m. – ticket reservations are required.
