The Elliot Lake Bobcats made their way to the Essar Centre Sunday night to face off with the Soo Thunderbirds.

It didn’t take long for the Thunderbirds to get out front when Anthony Miller snapped a shot by the Bobcats goaltender a minute into the first period. Greg Sartoretto added to the Thunderbirds lead on the power play 9 minutes into the first. Brandon Warmington also added a shorthanded goal before Dan Pymaki finished the scoring in the period.
The second period brought a physical prowess to the game when the Thunderbirds Matt Zalewski and the Bobcats Alex Lacroix dropped the gloves. Moments after this fight Jeremy Soloman and Larry McShane dropped the gloves alongside Dan Pymaki and Kyle Macdonald. Once the teams cooled down Adam Ritchie and Anthony Miller both added markers for the thunderbirds making it 6-0.

The third period started off with Joey Couture and Luke Morin dropping the gloves for the final fight of the night. The Bobcats got on the board when Nicholas Tassone scored on the power play 10 minutes into the third. The Thunderbirds would answer once again with goals from Anthony Miller and Darcy Casola which made it 8-1.
The Thunderbirds outshot Elliot Lake 31-15 in the game and the three stars were Adam Ritchie, Darcy Casola and Anthony Miller.
