More changes are in store for the Station Mall, one of the biggest shopping centres north of Toronto.
As part of a $10 million renovation project, the food court area is getting a facelift with new seating and flooring said Maureen Webb, property manager for the waterfront mall.
"We have temporary seating in place during the renovations including additional seating in the former Bulk Barn location north of Galaxy Cinema.
Webb notes that when completed 60 additional seats and tables will be installed in a larger food court area.
"Right now we're replacing the floor tiles and expanding the area" Webb said, "that should be done by October then we're taking a break during the Christmas holiday shopping season before installing new seats and tables in the new year"

Temporary walls have been put up surrounding the construction site while the new flooring is installed. Webb expects there to be about 7,000 square feet added to the food court area when it's all complete.
The renovations in the food court area is just part of the overall plan for the 40 year old mall
The new Walmart store is expected to open by mid October and more tenants will be taking up some vacant space by the time Spring arrives.
One of the biggest projects includes replacing all the common area flooring in the mall next year - "it will be done in stages starting at some entrance ways and then throughout the mall"
Most of the washrooms have been updated and the other washrooms will be renovated as well.
Santa, who makes his return shortly to the mall might also have a new location, though Webb didn't specify where Santa will be, "we might move Santa to the other end of the mall this year"
Sportchek one of the new anchor stores opened last fall and children's clothing store Osh Kosh recently opened on the western area of the mall.
The multi-million dollar facelift will all be completed by mid 2013
