Neil Armstrong, known as the first man on the moon, died today at the age of 82. He died of "complications resulting from cardiovascular procedures." He had heart surgery earlier this month. Armstrong was part of the Apollo 11 mission which landed on the moon on July 20th, 1969, years after President Kennedy announced that the United States would launch an ambitious space program. Many will remember Armstrong's famous words "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
