Jordan Nolan finally got his day with the cup, and he shared it with the community. Over 500 people came out to congratulate Jordan on his achievement and to get a glimpse of the Stanley Cup.

During the entire parade Jordan was nothing but smiles and nothing could wipe the smile off of his face. From the moment he walked out with the cup over his head to hearing “Jordan, Jordan” being chanted by the crowd. Chief Lyle Sayers even said that in all his years as being chief and even being on the council of Garden River this was the proudest day for him.

Jordan brought the cup to the Garden River Rec Centre where he shared it with children, and had balloons released in his honour. He then made his way down the highway to the community centre where he presented it to the elders. The fire chief also presented Jordan with a shirt and a fire helmet that was decorated with the L.A kings logo and his number 71. Jordan also made time to take a photo with everyone who wanted to do so.

Jordan was part of the Los Angeles Kings first Stanley Cup Victory in Franchise history and he was the first person from Garden River to win the Stanley Cup. Lets hope this is just the beginning for the Garden River boy and that his NHL career brings back a few more Stanley Cups to Garden River.

Congratulations Jordan!
