Midget Sox lose slugfest to Travelers

baseball generic 2The Cambrian Nissan Midget Black Sox dropped a 14-10 decision to the E.U.P. Travelers on Tuesday night at James Field.



The Black Sox managed to keep pace with the Travelers throughout much of the night but E.U.P. pulled ahead with a pair of runs in the fifth inning and two more in the sixth to seal the victory. The Travelers jumped out to an early lead in the win, leading 6-2 through two innings before the Black Sox took a short-lived 7-6 lead in the third.



Kris Kerr led the offensive attack for the Black Sox with a single, three walks and also reached base after being hit by a pitch. Jordan Pine doubled twice and also singles while Dana Lesage singled twice. Scott Morphet singled and walked as well for the Black Sox in the loss.



Tyler Kirkland reached base three times for the Travelers with a pair of walks and a double. Lucas Krupa tripled and doubled in the win for E.U.P.



Next up for the Black Sox is a double header on Saturday afternoon against Sudbury. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
