In response to a news release on July 17 encouraging people to bring pennies in to help Habitat for Humanity Sault Ste. Marie and Area reach its first million pennies by the Rotaryfest parade on Saturday, July 21, pennies have been pouring in to the ReStore.
Penny rollers have been hard at work counting and rolling buckets of pennies, including a container dropped off by a young supporter who emptied his piggy bank to help build a house.
The penny total has jumped to 907,850. Will they make it, or will they miss? Remember: EVERY PENNY COUNTS! Pennies can be dropped off at the ReStore at 32 White Oak Dr. E. between 9am and 5pm on weekdays and 10am and 4pm on Saturdays. Track the penny progress at facebook.com or habitatsault.ca
Sault Ste. Marie is Answering the Call and the Pennies are Rolling In!
