There's really no better place in this city to discover Celebrate 100 - The Sault's 100th anniversary of becoming a city than the Sault Ste. Marie Museum but there's also a lot of interesting history prior leading from the war of 1812. As part of those celebrations which kicks off this Saturday at the Sault Museum at 2pm, a new exhibition is now on display.

There you will find out pretty much everything that has happened in this city since it was just a settlement for explorers and natives. The new exhibit focuses on the time frame of the war of 1812 through to 1870.

For instance, the latest exhibit "Life in the Sault - a time of Change" is chock full of great information about the Sault before it became a town or one of the largest and most important hubs in the Great Lakes.

The museum is a non-profit institution maintained by the Sault Ste. Marie & 49th Field Regiment R.C.A. Historical Society. The museum collects, preserves, studies and exhibits artifacts and archival materials that illustrate the history and development of Sault Ste. Marie and vicinity to foster an understanding of our local heritage.

The museum welcomes visitors year-round to explore three floors of galleries which depict our local heritage.

The Museum is Open

June 1 to September 30 - Monday to Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

October 1 to May 31 - Tuesday to Saturday, 9:30 a.m.
