SOCCER BALL TALLThe U14 Civics Surge girls soccer team dropped two straight road games in Western Ontario Soccer League action this past weekend.

On Saturday, the Surge fell to the Guelph Royals by a 2-1 score at the University of Guelph soccer complex. The Sault's lone goal was a second half marker from forward Bailie Malmloff.

On Sunday, despite controlling play for the majority of the game, the Sault squad dropped a 3-2 decision to the Royals and returned home winless. Emily Calibani scored both goals for the Surge, who fall to 2-4-0 in WOYSL regular season play.

"We deserved a better fate this weekend" quipped Surge coach Jeff Conley. "Both games were ours to win. We didn't cash in on our chances which, quite frankly, could have put either game out of reach for Guelph. We let them stay close and got burned on a couple of costly mistakes."

Next action for the Surge are two games in the Sault on July 14 and 15 versus Cambridge United.
