Despite precarious conditions, with a total of 116 personnel on the emergency scene, only two minor injuries were sustained. The team rendered assistance in a professional manner in keeping with their training and expertise.
The Elliot Lake Fire Department wishes to thank each person or group who volunteered their assistance in the search and rescue of the victims. Due to the expert teams that were already engaged, these offers were not acted upon but were much appreciated by the Elliot Lake Emergency Management Team.
