The Sault Community Career Centre has become a community hub, offering not only employment services, but settlement services to Newcomers in our Northern Ontario community. Now well established in our downtown location we are continuously striving to provide resources and information that will help with job search and community integration. Recently we have acquired the “Welcome to Ontario” kiosk, which provides basic information on settlement services including employment, education and other resources available to support newcomers. Currently there are 51 kiosks situated in schools, CIC offices, Newcomer Welcome Centres, and Service Canada Centres across Ontario.
The kiosk will assist newcomers and their families integrate to life in Ontario through the provision of accessible, accurate, and relevant settlement information. After using the Kiosk newcomers will have a better understanding of settlement services and free community services available to support them in Ontario. Newcomers can also request that an email with follow-up information be sent to them.
