fighter jetsWho, oh who, would pay $47,000 of taxpayers' money on something as small as a press conference? Why, Peter McKay, Canada's Conservative defence minister would! In 2010, MacKay held a big press conference, a huge photo-op, just to show off Canada's new F-35 fighter Jets (pictured). Now, the press conference is just the tip of the iceberg...

The fighter jets themselves have a huge controversy surrounding them, of course. Every Canadian probably remembers our dear friend Michael Ignatieff babbling on every campaign stop about how these jets are a waste of money... "Jets and Jails, that's what Stephen Harper wants." Oh, he was right about that, but the election hit the Liberal party down to third place, where they will be staying for a very long time.

Now don't think that just because I'm a Liberal, I will always support the things they do! No. They've made mistakes in government as well. The Sponsorship scandal, the Pipeline scandal of the 50's, the Reciprocity Scandal of the early 1900's. Canada's former naturally governing party was not too often accountable... But they are the lesser of the evils.

I vaguely wonder why Sault Ste. Marie even elected a Conservative Member of Parliament. I mean, nothing's getting done locally. Sure, dear Bryan may be on some committees but who cares? Not me, not you, the voter! In October of 2015, it's time to stop the government from making mistakes. In October 2015, it's time to rise up as a nation and say "No" to wasteful spending, say "No" to cutting jobs, say "No" to the Conservative party!

Politics is about getting elected and serving your people, doing what's right for them. What our government is doing is not right. Read the newspapers, watch the news channel, listen to the radio, and you will see, that our government, no, excuse me, ALL government, is made to support their next election bid, say and do anything to get into office. Will the government ever be accountable? Don't kid yourself... Liberal, Conservative, New Democrat, Green. They're all in it for themselves.
