The Elks 341 Bantam Black Sox split a pair of games with the Sault JV Blue Devils on Thursday in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.In the opening game, the locals took a lead into the sixth inning only to see the Blue Devils come back and pick up a 9-6 win.
Brandon Dewar had a pair of singles in the loss while Jarrod Sachro, Connor Henderson, Colton Read and Joel Soltys also singled in the loss.
The Bantam Sox rebounded with a 10-1 win in the second game. Evan Lavallee pitched a complete game, giving up just three hits and a walk while striking out six. Offensively, Dewar had three singles while Ronnie Sayers added a pair of singles and two RBI’s. Lavallee also knocked in a pair of runs.
Next up for the Bantam Black Sox is a double header on Saturday in Grayling before opening the hope portion of their schedule May 25-27 when the ‘AA’ Barrie Red Sox make the trek north for five games against the Black Sox.
