What Does Oprah Have to Do with the Ratepayers?

Appearing first in line at the sold out Oprah Winfrey event in Toronto for the live taping of Oprah’s Life Class along with Deepak Chopra, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Iyalna Vanzant and Tony Robbins apparently comes with some perks - just ask Julie Hryniewicz, former Sault Ste. Marie candidate for Mayor and a volunteer member of the Sault Ste. Marie Ratepayers Association.

Interviewed eight times over the course of the day, Hryniewicz appeared on CTV National News, eTalk, City Pulse, the Canadian Press and the Toronto Sun, just to name a few. She set her sights on being first in line (of the almost 9000 people) and achieved her goal. “It was a remarkable and exhilarating experience that I am truly grateful for”, said Hryniewicz.

Hryniewicz was so inspired by the information and the experience that the Sault Ste. Marie Ratepayers Association will be sponsoring a series of free talks in the community titled, “Sharing the Wisdom: From Meeting 10 People Who Changed the World”. Bits and pieces of the new talk will be integrated into the Regional Ratepayers Conference being held this Saturday at the Delta Sault Ste. Marie Waterfront from 12 Noon – 2pm and then again during a reception, dinner and dance at the Delta that evening, as Hryniewicz is one of the masters of ceremonies for the Ratepayers event.

“Meeting some powerful individuals over the last eight years, including the co-founder of the Chicken Soup for the Soul Empire, the former Governor General of Canada, one of the Blackberry giants, and now Oprah Winfrey, has provided some unique opportunities that I want to continue to share with audiences. As a motivational speaker and corporate trainer since 2004, Hryniewicz has been a keynote speaker at conventions, retreats and events across Ontario, Michigan and Nova Scotia, including delivering seminars to thousands at the Essar Centre and the Halifax Metro Centre.

The “Sharing the Wisdom: From Meeting 10 People Who Changed the World” talk with Julie Hryniewicz will be available, at no cost to groups, businesses and non-profit organizations who sign up, in person, at the Sault Ste. Marie Ratepayers Association between 12 Noon and 2pm and then again between 6-9pm in the evening “Meet Your Neighbours” portion of the Regional Ratepayers Conference, this Saturday April 21st.

The seminar will be fully sponsored by the Sault Ste. Marie Ratepayers Association, as long as it is booked in person on Saturday April 21st at the conference. You can hear some of the information by attending the free session this Saturday April 21st, from 12 Noon-2pm, at the Delta Sault Ste. Marie Waterfront for the Regional Ratepayers Conference, where Ratepayers Groups from Sudbury, Espanola and Red Rock Ratepayers Groups will also be attending the “Building a Committee of Community” event. Mayor Debbie Amaroso is also a guest speaker that afternoon. There is no cost to attend the afternoon portion of the conference and all are welcome and invited to join in.
