Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance concerning the recent discovery of Halloween candy that has been tampered with.

There have been 8 families who have come forward to police, all of which have found sewing needles in miniature chocolate bars.

The chocolate bars vary in type, they have been found in Caramilk, Mars and Kit Kat bars.

The families reported that they went trick or treating in the area of Lorna, Copernicus, Kerr, Softwood Drive, and Hardwood Drive.

Crime Stoppers is encouraging families to inspect their child’s candy and report any objects found in the candy to Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.
