Tiger Cats Player Dumped after Arrest at Sault Border

Jordan Kyle MatechuckA CFL player has been booted off his team after he was allegedy found with drugs at the Sault Ste. Marie border last month.

Jordon Kyle Matechuk, 25 was found with a small amount of marijuana, 19 syringes and 51 replacement needles along with over 500 anabolic steroid pills and liquid.

Matechuk played for the Hamilton Tiger Cats, he was on his way to Hamilton from Alberta crossing into the Mighigan Sault.

Matechuck was charged with possession of Oxycontin, possession of steroids and possession of marijuana.

He spent time at the Chippewa County Jail and was released June 2

He was to return to the Michigan Judicial Courthouse on June 6, but didn't show.
On Tuesday night, as the league heard of the charges, The Tiger Cats released Matechuk from the team. The 25 year old athlete is a native of Yorkton Sask.

The Tiger Cats will not make any further comments on the player.
