Campout at the Canal

The Sault Ste. Marie Canal National Historic Site is pleased to announce that the Campout at the Canal event will be taking place for a second year. Mark your calendars for July 28 to 29 and get ready to have fun while learning about the great outdoors. Whether it’s been a while since you last slept under the stars or if you’ve never been camping before, this event is for you!

This year, Parks Canada staff will be working with Joe’s Sports and Surplus to provide a variety of outdoor activities for a well-rounded camping experience. Participants will learn tips and tricks, nature basics, and camping skills to help them enjoy their next outdoor adventure. The day will conclude with a campfire, night hike and overnight stay at the Sault Canal!

The event is open to adults and children over seven; all children must be accompanied by an adult. Fees are $7.30 per person and spaces are limited. Once registered, participants will be provided with an information package including an itinerary, camping checklist and a list of required gear. Some equipment is available for new campers.
